Galway Harbour Company Newsletter
As the end of 2013 drew to a close, Galway Harbour handled its first cargo of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). This cargo was the result of almost 18 months preparation and planning and was loaded into the first ship in what could only be described as trying weather conditions.
Harbour Master, Captain Brian Sheridan said that exporting this cargo was a great achievement for all parties involved and it bode well for improved throughput at the western port in 2014. The consignments of RDF are destined to Germany and Holland.
